Krispy Kreme Is Bringing Bikini Bottom to Life With a Brand New Collaboration
Krispy Kreme has spent the last few years turning its doughnut boxes into pop culture events, but this latest release is chaotic. A fast-food chain known for glazed classics somehow found a way to turn SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Squidward, Gary the Snail, a Krabby Patty, and even SpongeBob’s pineapple house into actual doughnuts.
The collection first started making waves online in April after food creators and snack accounts shared photos of the lineup. Fans immediately locked onto one detail in particular: the Krabby Patty doughnut. The only catch is that most fans can only stare at the photos for now.
The Collection Is Packed With Cartoon References
The collaboration is currently available in the Philippines as part of Krispy Kreme Philippines’ 20th anniversary celebration. The full collection includes six doughnuts inspired by major SpongeBob characters and locations, and the designs embrace the cartoon’s exaggerated look.
The SpongeBob doughnut comes filled with dark chocolate and covered in bright yellow coating with candy decorations shaped around his face. Patrick Star’s doughnut features a pink star shape with strawberry filling, while Squidward’s version uses teal coating and custard filling to match his famously grumpy vibe.
Gary the Snail also made the cut with a vanilla-filled shell doughnut covered in coral-colored chocolate. Then there’s the pineapple house doughnut, which might be the strangest one in the lineup. Krispy Kreme filled it with Pineapple Kreme and topped it with coconut glaze to match SpongeBob’s iconic home.
Still, the Krabby Patty doughnut is getting most of the attention online. Krispy Kreme designed it to resemble the cartoon burger, complete with sesame seed topping and layers of colored chocolate meant to imitate lettuce, cheese, and tomato. Inside, it contains brownie batter filling.
Fans Outside The Philippines Are Already Frustrated

The reaction online has been split between excitement and pure jealousy. Comment sections quickly filled with complaints after fans realized the collaboration was exclusive to the Philippines. Several people questioned why Krispy Kreme keeps rolling out its most creative collections overseas rather than bringing them to the United States or Europe.
Others immediately asked whether the doughnuts would eventually expand internationally, especially after earlier collaborations with Harry Potter, DC superheroes, Super Mario, and Oreo had reached multiple markets.
Right now, Krispy Kreme has not announced any wider release plans. This has only made the collection feel more desirable online. Limited food releases tend to gain momentum fast once people realize they can’t easily get them, and SpongeBob already has one of the most loyal fan bases in entertainment.
The themed box packaging is adding even more hype. The six-pack comes covered in SpongeBob artwork.
SpongeBob Food Collabs Keep Getting Bigger
This isn’t the first time SpongeBob SquarePants has crossed into fast food or grocery shelves, but the Krispy Kreme release might be the most visually committed version yet.
The Krabby Patty alone has already appeared in multiple real-world forms over the years through Burger King and Wendy’s promotions. SpongeBob-themed cereal and instant ramen also recently hit store shelves.
Krispy Kreme clearly understood the assignment here. The doughnuts actually resemble the characters, rather than just borrowing colors and calling it a day.
The collaboration officially launched on April 13 and runs through June 7, 2026. Individual doughnuts start at 80 Philippine pesos, while the full six-piece box starts at 480 Philippine pesos. For fans living outside the Philippines, scrolling through photos might be the closest thing to a taste test for now.
