The Toasted Pizza Sandwiches are the first limited-edition items to appear under Jimmy John’s Toasted Sandwich platform, which debuted earlier in 2025. The platform began with core menu additions like the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Ultimate Italian, aimed at customers looking for a hot alternative to the brand’s signature cold sandwiches.
By using ingredients already in stock—such as French bread, marinara sauce, sliced mozzarella, and deli meats—the brand keeps prep simple and execution fast.
Jimmy John’s has also expanded its ordering access to mobile, in-store, and delivery. According to the company, the goal is to give customers a warm, flavor-forward option without changing the chain’s identity.
Toasted Sicilian Focuses on Meat and Marinara
The Toasted Sicilian Pizza Sandwich combines cured meats and warm toppings to create a filling option designed for heavier appetites. Each version includes salami, capocollo, and ham layered on Jimmy John’s toasted French bread.
It also features a serving of marinara sauce, sliced mozzarella, and a dusting of oregano-basil seasoning to tie it closer to traditional Italian flavor profiles. Unlike a typical sub, this item arrives hot and pressed, with melted cheese and a crisp exterior.
If you are used to cold deli-style sandwiches, this version will bring noticeable contrast. The structure holds together despite its filling weight. This makes it suitable for fast meals without needing utensils or extra packaging.
Three Cheese Version Introduces First Toasted Vegetarian Option
The Toasted Three Cheese Pizza Sandwich marks the first time Jimmy John’s has offered a warm vegetarian sandwich on its Toasted platform. It’s built on the same toasted French bread as its meaty counterpart, but this version features mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheeses.
Compared to the Sicilian, this option feels lighter, but not sparse. The cheese blend is meant to create texture and contrast, with mozzarella providing pull, provolone adding creaminess, and parmesan giving a sharper finish. Reviewers noted that it resembled French bread pizza in flavor and texture.
Jimmy John’s typically caters to a meat-forward menu, so the introduction of a vegetarian-friendly item under this new category shows a willingness to broaden its customer base without creating a separate product line.
