6 Discontinued Arby’s Items That May Never Return
When a favorite fast-food item disappears, the menu keeps its familiar look, but something small still feels missing for the people who ordered it often. Arby’s has removed several well-liked items over the years with little explanation, and fans continue to search for updates, compare old recipes, and hope for a return.
A few items have reappeared for short runs. Potato cakes caused a major reaction when they were discontinued in 2021, briefly popped back up in 2024, and finally returned in early 2025 with a promise backed by a one-million-dollar payout if they are removed again before December 31, 2026. That comeback stood out, especially since other discontinued items remain firmly off the menu.
The Arby-Q Sandwich

This item took the classic roast beef base and drenched it in smoky barbecue sauce on a sesame bun. It carved out a devoted following that still talks about it. Short-lived, limited returns keep the hope alive, but nothing suggests a full resurrection in the long term.
The Big Montana

True to its name, this item was a towering stack of roast beef that weighed in at close to 0.5 pounds and belonged to the 1990s era of unapologetic size. It faded away once the brand shifted toward newer “Max” creations and tighter portions. Its sheer scale makes a modern revival unlikely.
The Sourdough Melt
This item featured Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and roast beef packed inside toasted sourdough. Regulars praised the tangy bread and melty finish, which made its quiet exit sting a little more. Unlike seasonal items that rotate back, this one never circled back.
Market Fresh Cool Ranch Chicken Wrap

During the Market Fresh experiment, this wrap contained crispy chicken, ranch, lettuce, tomato, and cheddar. When the entire Market Fresh concept faded out in the early 2020s, the wrap went with it. Without that line to support it, the odds of its return keep shrinking.
Three Pepper Sauce
This sauce built its fan base on a punch of red bell peppers, jalapeños, and black pepper balanced by a sweet, tangy base. People poured it on curly fries, chicken sandwiches, and almost anything else it touched. Fans have since pushed for bottled versions in stores, similar to Horsey sauce, but all in vain.
Loaded Curly Fries
Turning Arby’s signature curly fries into a full dish with cheese, bacon, and ranch seemed like an easy win, but the response was split. Some loved the indulgence, while others complained about the texture and consistency. When menu simplification efforts hit in 2021, this item fell off the list.
